Authenticity & expertise
At Origami Vintage, authenticity is not a promise - it is a standard.
We operate a highly selective curation process directly in Japan, widely recognized as the most rigorous market for luxury vintage goods.
Japan enforces some of the world’s strictest regulations on the resale of luxury goods, making it one of the safest markets globally.
Our objective is simple: to offer you the same guarantee of authenticity as if you were purchasing directly in Japan.
Our process is built on three pillars:
- Exclusive sourcing in Japan through carefully vetted partners
- Strict selection: only a small fraction of pieces is retained
- Multiple independent authentications, followed by a final verification by our team
Each item undergoes a thorough authentication process:
- Analysis of materials, craftsmanship, and finishes
- Verification of serial numbers, stamps, and signatures
- Cross-checking with brand standards and archival references
- Validation by experienced specialists
Only a highly selective number of pieces meet our standards.
Do you send authenticity certificate?
When available, your item may include:
- Original brand authenticity card or certificate
- Vintage accessories and documentation
For selected items, authentication via Entrupy, a leading AI authentication technology, may be provided.
Not all vintage items come with an official certificate.
In such cases, each piece is authenticated through a double verification process: through our Japan-based sourcing network and in-house experts.
If an item is ever found not to be authentic, we guarantee a full refund.
